Commercial

Commercial work spans retail, institutional, healthcare, hospitality, transportation, and mixed-use development across BC. Most of it happens with spaces still partially operational and the public still moving through. The job is as much about not disrupting operations as it is about installing surfaces. Dave Griffith runs Bridgewater's commercial work, with twenty-five years on tile and the last fifteen on commercial projects across the Lower Mainland and Western Canada.

Commercial projects almost always involve third-party review and document compliance.

We support engineer-stamped systems where the spec calls for them and install work in accordance with TTMAC, NFCA, and the BC Building Code. Inspection-grade documentation is maintained throughout installation, which is what reduces risk for the contractor and the owner.

Large-format panels and vertical wall systems are common on commercial work. They introduce structural and safety considerations that adhesive alone doesn’t handle, so we evaluate mechanical fastening case by case and coordinate installation with structural and building envelope assemblies.

High-traffic floors and walls take installation systems chosen for the actual load, wear, and maintenance reality each surface will face after turnover.

Past commercial work includes Oakridge Mall Redevelopment Project, Royal Center Exterior (Ledcor), AbCellera (Lark), Simon Fraser University, Tsawwassen Boardwalk Phase 2 (Aquilini), Ocean 6 (CE Miles), and Alexander College (Holaco).
